Friday Happy Dance and an Award

It's Friday, do that happy dance.  :) While we had a lot of fun learning and working this week, my kids and I were beat by the end of the day.

Aren't these winter kids so cute?  I had two of my friends volunteer to test out a template I made after they finished their reading assessments today.  I can't wait to have the whole class make them next week! They are the final project for our winter unit, can't wait to upload the unit and crativity template to TpT for ya'll! We've had a lot of fun and learned a ton!

I'm loving my couch and The King of Queens on TBS right now.  Who am I kidding? I love my couch and The King of Queens every night, I do own the entire series on DVD.

Tammy at Forever in First has nominated me for Verisatile Blogger award!  Thanks, Tammy!

The Versatile Blogger Award rules:
1.  Thank the person who nominated you with a link back to them. {Thanks again, Tammy! :)}
2.  Tell 7 things about yourself.
3.  Pass this award on to 15 other newly discovered blogs and let them know they received an award. (I'm not sure if I can come up with 15 but I'll try!)

I'm passing the love on to:
Live, Laugh, Grow
Made in the Shade in Second Grade
Swinging Through Second Grade
Cozart's Class
First Grade Fabulosity
Soaring Through Second

Such a short list but I'll be sure to add more when I'm not so exhausted.

Seven Things About Me

1. I met my husband because of being a teaching addict.
Back before blogs, I spent a lot of time on AtoZ Teacher Stuff forums.  One day a fellow member messaged me about my location, we were from the same state.  Turns out we were lived right down the street from each other.  We met for lunch and I discovered I had her niece in class.  Then we had a grad class together and she subbed a lot in my building, so we became friends.  I went to my school's chorus concert and ended up sitting with my friends parents, they were there to see her niece.  Turns out they were friends with my husband.  My friend introduced us and the rest is history! :)

2. I'm a coach for the Girls on the Run Program

I can't say enough about Girls on the Run.  It made such a difference in the lives of my students and the girls on our team and I know my involvement with this wonderful program changed me as well.  Our spring season starts next month and I can't wait!

 3. I am a huge Ohio State fan.
Brutus the Buckeye is our class mascot, I don't do pets in the classroom, and every year I get lots of Ohio State themed gifts for Christmas.

This year's loot.

4.  I love, love, love coffee.
My maid of honor joked in her speech that "coffee runs through my veins," and she's not far off.  Every Friday, I treat myself to a misto with skim milk at Starbucks.  It's just like a latte but cheaper. :)  In fact, my husband and I collect the Starbucks city mugs from the different cities we visit together.
5.  I used to have a food blog.
Well, the domain is still active but not for much longer.  I enjoyed the community and growing as a home cook, but I never really found my voice and struggled to create my own recipes.  I was never a fan when someone posted a recipe I did create all but myself and changed one little thing and said it was loosely based on one of my recipes, so I tried not to do that myself. I hope to do a Foodie Friday  Feature here soon where I made a recipe and post it for you all on Fridays. :)

My cake batter baked doughnuts, one of my few original recipes and easily the most visited recipe that I ever had on my food blog.

6. I spent the first four years of my teaching career in third grade.
While I don't necessarily miss the stress of high stakes testing, I miss third graders so much.  They have such FUN personalities.  I also miss my BTF {best teacher friend} who was my neighbor when I taught third grade so much.  It's a good thing I get to back to my old school to coach GOTR so I can see her every week.

7.  I love the movie You've Got Mail.
I love, love, love You've Got Mail.  I actually own all three versions of the story.  You've Got Mail, In the Good Old Summertime and The Shop Around the Corner.  Actually The Shop Around the Corner is probably my favorite of the three.  Jimmy Stewart, love him!

I took my pictures for Clutter- Free Classroom's Clutter Free Classroom Project. Shutter.   I moved schools a week before school started.  My room is a hot mess and was originally set up by someone else.  There's a place for everything, I just don't know where it all is!  I am so excited for some feedback and tips for my room!

Happy Friday! So I can get to know my blogging buddies better, tell me something about yourself in the comments below!
