Currently January and a freebie

Tonight I'm linking up with Farley at Oh Boy Fourth Grade for her January linky party!  Make sure to stop by her blog so you can join in on all the fun!

Today was an interesting day.  When I turned on my Smartboard, I heard a loud POP.  Which means only one things and one thing only, the bulb blew.  Luckily,  there was one in the office and it was installed just before our afternoon started.  Teaching without a Smartboard was something I hadn't done in three years.  I felt lost without it.  I use it for everything and I mean everything.  This morning we completed the summarizing activity from my Treasures Review Unit.  My kids loved it! They worked really well in their cooperative learning groups and their final products were just what I was looking for.  How often does that happen?  ;)

In science, we began to wrap up our unit on winter by making our own snowflakes and coating them in snow paint, equal parts glue and shaving cream.

We also visited Snowflake Workshop and made some snowflakes together on the Smartboard.  They loved it and begged me to email the link to their parents.  Done. :)

Three times a year, every time we do Dibels, my district does math fluency assessments.  At this point in second grade, we do addition, subtraction and double digit addition and subtraction.  Since we haven't done a lot with double digit addition and subtraction since we got back from break, I created this for my class last night.

We had a lot of fun reviewing today and now your class can join in on the fun by clicking {here}, I have uploaded the game to my Teacher's Pay Teacher's store for free.  While you're there, I'd love to have you follow me. :)

I hope each of you had a great Monday, I'm off to grade read blogs!

  3. Thanks for the freebie, your blog is too cute! I know how you feel about the smart board. My bulb has gone before and I had a moment of panic before I found a replacement, it's funny how you don't think about how much you use it until its not there.

  7. Surely there is a good stance mentioned here and it is almost covering the vital aspects which must be understood by the students and other professionals on how they needed to look around. ucas personal statement length
