Life Update

Hello sweet blog friends! I just wanted to make a quick update to let you all know that my sporadic posts are for a reason. ;)

Some really cool things are happening in my personal and professional life, while I'm not quite ready to share them here on the blog, I can tell you that they are awesome.  But these personal and professional life happenings have been my main focus right now.

I'll be back to regular postings and creating of materials to share with you within in a few weeks.  I'm still reading and loving everything that you've been sharing but I've been so swamped with all these great, wonderful things that are on the horizon.  Swamped in a very good way of course. :) I hope to be back sooner than later to share good news soon! :)

March Currently

Can ya'll believe that it is March? I can't!  Although it did snow today.  I mean I had to scrape my car off and everything and then I got all mad because I believe if it snows, it needs to snow enough for a snow day.  Yeah, that didn't happen.

Again, Farley is hosting her beloved Currently Linky party for March and I was so excited to join in the fun.  :)

I will say that I cheated and googled adjectives with P to help with the three words.  Most of the time my students think I'm patient, I think my friends think I'm pleasant to be around, and my family would probably say I'm a pretty passionate person.

Thanks again for hosting, Farley!  Click {here} to check to get in on the fun!

Treasure friends, I worked super, duper hard and finally finished my leveled reader pack for Dig, Wait, Listen.  I'm paying for all that hard work today, so so so tired.

Even even if you don't use Treasures, I think most of you can use the preview file from this item, a graphic organizer for problem and solution.

Click on any of the images to check out the listing on Teachers Pay Teachers. :)

Have an awesome night! I'm off to bake some cookies, my father in law is coming over for dinner tonight!

Problem and Solution Freebie and a new blogger on the blog block

Greetings from the Land of Laundry!
I kid, but seriously how do two people create so much laundry in a week? I feel like I've been doing laundry all day long.

Next week, my students will be tackling problem and solution in our reading series.  Which I plan to hit pretty hard because this is the first time it's been our focus skill of the week and I know it's ha big focus in third grade.

When I taught third grade, I often liked to have my kiddos put the problem and solution of a story on sentence strips to show that problem/solution also help retell/sequence the story we read.  So I modified one of my third grade files into an activity pack for my second grade darlings to use this week.

I typically use sentence strips but all I had was crepe paper at my house! :) I have the kiddos fill out the organizer pieces while reading and then having them cut it out and assemble afterwards.

I've upload the graphic organizer you see above and the following activities/resources to my Teacher's Pay Teachers store for ya'll for Free to say thank you for all your support during the TpT Leap Day Sale! I was blown away by the success my little store had during the sale.  Thank you, thank you, thank you! :)

Oh and one of my best friends, former roommate and college classmate has started a blog! Her name is Lauren and she's a fifth grade math teacher with fantastic ideas! She has some of my former third graders and I'm so glad they are in her class!
Her blog is called Tastes Like Paste, she has a terrific sense of humor too.  Stop by her blog and leave her some bloggy love! :)

Off to finish lesson plans and catch up on your blogs.  :) Have a great night!
