As far as the reads sections, I read Sideways Stories From Wayside School to my kids every year and they love it, I love it, everybody loves it. It's just a big ole love fest of goofy stories. This year, I may or may not have downloaded some of the cartoons for my kiddos. Really not like the book at all, but they LOVED them. :) This year, I discovered Mercy Watson and my second graders ADORED them. I think at one point, my class had every copy of the series checked out from the local library. I reread Teaching With Intention before school every summer, I just love, love, love it.
Make sure you head over to Farley's blog to check out everybody's Currently posts. I know I'm heading there as soon as I hit publish! :)

I said Mercy Watson too!! :)
ReplyDeleteI DEFINITELY feel exactly the same way about the moving - I've moved 4 times in the last 4 years and I'm just tired of doing it myself! I want someone else to come do it for me, but I want to be able to tell them what to pack up and put in which box! Lol

Your first one made me chuckle because I do the same exact thing when my hubby isn't home. I don't like things being quiet.

My (Not So) Elementary Life
I love Mercy Watson too! I couldn't decide what book to put down and I think I've already talked about Mercy on my blog so I thought I'd do a different book. Good luck with your move! I've moved over 10 times in my life and I really hate the entire process.

A Cupcake for the Teacher
My reading series comes with trade books for reading groups, and it included the third Mercy Watson book for some reason. My schedule doesn't allow for reading groups, so the second graders just took whichever books they wanted to read and they LOVED THOSE. I want to read them out loud next year. :)
